My Stuff V2

I led the redesign of My Stuff, Hulu’s hub for managing shows, movies, and recordings. The main issue was clear. Viewers could not fix incorrect watch history, which broke Keep Watching and Autoplay.

I introduced a new Information Architecture with four simple areas, making My Stuff easier to understand and manage. The redesign also added a direct path to fix Autoplay through a dedicated Watch History page.

This work improved control for viewers and created the foundation for future features like Playlists and Purchases.

My Role:

• Kept the team aligned on the goal, which was to make My Stuff clear, simple, and scalable.
• Designed a new structure that could support upcoming features like Playlists and Purchases.
• Facilitated a kickoff workshop so all teams understood the vision and the main problems we were solving.
• I helped the team use a shared approach for gathering feedback so we stayed focused on user needs.

How I Worked With PM and Engineering

• Worked with the Product Manager on the vision document that defined the mission and success goals.
• Met weekly with engineers to review designs early and prevent rework later.
• When we did not have hands on engineers at the start, I guided the design team to build prototypes that were clear, testable, and realistic.

Background and Context

My Stuff grew out of several older features. Queue, Favorites, and Watchlist. Over time, these merged into one space. This created confusion because each earlier version worked differently.

The biggest problem was the lack of a simple management area. Viewers could not mark episodes or movies as watched or unwatched. About two thirds of viewers struggled with this. As a result, Hulu often showed the wrong playback point and Autoplay stopped working.

To fix this, we wrote a clear mission statement. My Hulu should give viewers full control over their own content. This vision aligned Product, Design, and Marketing.
